New family member

My family has just grown bigger for one more family member. Her name is Joyce, she is 15 years old and she comes from a town called Mtakuja in Tanzania.

She speaks haya, swahili and some English. She might learn Esperanto as well. She lives with her mother and she is the youngest child in her family. She is a second grade high school student and would like to work as a journalist or a policewoman once she finished her studies.

And she is one of the lucky children that had the opportunity to meet Mr. Mramba, an active esperantist in Tanzania, whose life pushed him in the way that he now has the opportunity to help people from his village and other villages around his village by providing them with possibilities to educate them, to dress them, to give them books, pencils and classrooms, to make wells and to support women in their projects. The main problem these people are facing as poverty (they cannot even afford clothes), undrinkable water and remoteness from the information.

50 Euro per year will enable Joyce to visit school, to pay for her books and pencils and to buy her two school dresses and shoes. The funds are transferred to them through the Flemish Esperanto Organisation. Twice a year, the supporters receive a letter from the school with a picture of the child the supported is supporting, news about them and their grades.
