Postcards from the south

Hello to everybody,

This is just to inform you that I will be leaving this beautiful city of Brussels today for 3 weeks. Yes, although I did not get approval from my closest PSTF (Personal Support Task Force), but those who know me, know as well that I will rebel everything, especially when not approved:)

Anyway, I will be here, just not so often (depends on the availability of the wireless networks of my lovely neighbours), but those who would like to get a real postcard from one of the countries down south, please send me your real addresses:)

And as I already promised, I will take pictures of my village:) My parents will be happy to provide you with roof over the head in our big house and make you eat a lot, beware:) he he

See you soon, happy holidays to everybody,

Manca:)

New family member

My family has just grown bigger for one more family member. Her name is Joyce, she is 15 years old and she comes from a town called Mtakuja in Tanzania.

She speaks haya, swahili and some English. She might learn Esperanto as well. She lives with her mother and she is the youngest child in her family. She is a second grade high school student and would like to work as a journalist or a policewoman once she finished her studies.

And she is one of the lucky children that had the opportunity to meet Mr. Mramba, an active esperantist in Tanzania, whose life pushed him in the way that he now has the opportunity to help people from his village and other villages around his village by providing them with possibilities to educate them, to dress them, to give them books, pencils and classrooms, to make wells and to support women in their projects. The main problem these people are facing as poverty (they cannot even afford clothes), undrinkable water and remoteness from the information.

50 Euro per year will enable Joyce to visit school, to pay for her books and pencils and to buy her two school dresses and shoes. The funds are transferred to them through the Flemish Esperanto Organisation. Twice a year, the supporters receive a letter from the school with a picture of the child the supported is supporting, news about them and their grades.

Those interested in supporting children during their study years, feel free to contact me. To support high school child the fee is 50 Euro per year. To support child in the elementary school the fee is 30 Euro per year. For more information about the project read here http://www.kono.be/mazingira/.

My village 2

Unfortunately I do not have any precise pictures of my village, but I promise I will take some this summer and publish them and write some more about the village and villagers:) For now I have found some pictures from around the village and some "domestic" animals.
